Mayor inaugurates protection wall at Bandhurakh | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 14: Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Chander Mohan Gupta today inaugurated the much needed boundary wall at Municipal land situated at Bandhurakh near Kunjwani. Raj Kumar Chairman Health & Sanitation Committee JMC, Hardeep Singh Mankotia Chairman Swacch Bharat Committee JMC, Ajay Gupta Chairman Social Justice Committee, Baldev Singh Balloria ex-Chairman Public Health Sanitation Committee JMC and Pritam Singh Councillor of Ward No 55 accompanied the Mayor. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that in order to protect the vacant Municipal land situated at different parts of the city from illegal and habitual encroachers, the JMC has taken up the job of raising protection wall around the sites on war footing. He further added that during the last rainy season, the dirty water of the nallah overflows and enters in the area and causes damages to the land and in order to overcome this situation in near future, the construction work of boundary wall which was started by the works Division IV of JMC at about 75 kanals of land with an allotted amount of Rs 70 lakh has been completed today. He added that various Municipal projects of UNDP for plastic waste segregation as well as cow shed and other allied activities are operating within site and it is dire need of a protection wall so that no anti-social elements can enter in this precious Municipal land. He further appealed to the general public to come forward and cooperate with JMC and other allied agencies in all the development activities being undertaken in various parts of the city. |
