Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 17: In an open spat of corruption, the female Sarpanch from Marwah block of Kishtwar District was caught on tape in conversation on mobile phone demanding and accepting to accept the money in advance in lieu of releasing the payment against the work done.
As per the details available with Early Times, the viral audio conversation between Sarpanch Qadreena-A Yasmeena Begum could be heard in conversation with one local Rustum Ali s/o Ghani Shah demanding extra money and bargaining on behalf of the VLW and JE on the plea that will JE and VLW would do his work with regard to release of payment for free.
The Sarpanch had taken advance amount of Rs.8000 from Rustum Ali and even didn’t made the payment and when he talked about the money- the lady Sarpanch tried to dodge him by saying that out of the taken amount - She had to pay to JE and VLW and the BDO. Simply she want to grab the money on the name of JE, VLW & BDO and seek extra money for releasing his pending payment.
“Kya Mai Tumarae Nukar Hoon Jo Mai free mai kaam karoongi (Am I your servant and do your job in free)” the Sarpanch could be heard saying in the conversation.
It is pertinent to mention that Sarpanch and VLW joint release the payment and act as first & secondary signatory.
The Sarpanch in question also came in line light in the year 2020 when she along with another BJP Sarpanch filled a complaint with Police Station Marwah that one GRS and NYC fraudulently with draw an amount of Rs.22 lakhs by using their digital signatures and on this Marwah police Registered FIR 5/2020 at Police Station Marwah, but surprisingly the Sarpanch reach out an agreement with the GRS and later prefer to not follow the case despite High Court rejected the bail of both the accused. Till now nothing has been done even by the police in this regard.
The locals told the Early Times that the corruption is at its peak among the Sarpanches in Marwah and Dachhan block where crores of rupees were withdrawn by Sarpanch/Pyt Secretary nexus fraudulently with out the bills submitted by the concern JEs or Technical Assistants posted in the area.
The locals demanded full fledge inquiry into the conduct of Sarpanches/Pyt Secretaries posted in Marwah and Dachhan block through specially framed committee including the audit of the payments withdrawn by the Sarpanches.
It is pertinent to submit further that another BJP female Sarpanch from Marwah was removed from the office on the allegations of fraudulent withdrawal of payments on the name of their children and her husband.
