Jammu,Mar 17: Parade Ground area- the heart of Jammu city and a commercial hub has roads in shambles but the men at helms seems to be in deep slumber and un- moved to carry out any necessary repairs.
Big potholes and ditches have developed on main roads inviting anytime untoward incidents besides motorists have to face bumpy rides which creates transport quaos at several occasions on the main and connecting roads in the area.
Some shopkeepers of parade ground area alleged that they have brought the matter into the notice of concerned authorities a number of times but nothing has been done in this regard so far.
They further alleged,besides the dilapidated condition of road the drainage system of the entire area is totally a failure.The over flowing drains of the area not only give out bad smell it also create a scene of accumulation of garbage and filth out of house hold wastes which is littered all over here and there on roads along with the over flowing drains in the area.The matter is needed to be addressed at the earliest as the summer has onset now they in one voice urged the district administration,otherwise there will be multiple problems that people have to face in coming days,they maintained.
