Relief Commissioner Migrant Jammu allegedly misbehaves with handicapped lady | Arrogant officer threatens her of breaking her other leg | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 28: The Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Migrant Jammu has been caught in controversy again for his misconduct with a female visitor. This time the arrogant officer misbehaved with a handicapped lady who had visited the office regarding her grievances. The victim Geeta Devi, who is handicapped on one leg, informed Early Times that she was running her tailor shop in a vacant Kashmiri migrant quarter in Muthi but some officer of the Relief Department asked her to vacate the place. “I visited the office to meet Relief Commissioner Jammu and requested him to allow me to run the shop so that I might make both ends meet but arrogant officer out rightly rejected my plight and threatened me to break my other leg and asked me to get out of the office and used unparliamentary language,” she said further adding that the Commissioner said that she is already handicapped of one leg and now he will break her other leg and ordered her to get out of the office. “On hearing the piercing words on my disability I literally started crying and came out of the office,” she informed. Sunny Kant Chib, Chairman Human Rights Council, who came in support of Geeta Devi, said that this was not the only incident, recently he also misbehaved with a young girl, who had come to get her EWS certificate but she was first harassed by the employees and when she went to meet Relief Commissioner, he also used bad language and humiliated her. “We want the Relief Commissioner to apologize to her for his misconduct, otherwise we will launch a massive protest demonstration against him,” Chib said. He appealed to the LG to take strict action against the arrogant officer so that common masses might not be harassed anymore in the office. |
