Jammu, Mar 28: Home Guards on Monday staged a protest here demanding regularization and pension benefits.
Talking to reporters protesters said, “Prime Minister had promised if BJP comes into power, Home Guards will be regularized.
We have been waiting for the past seven years for the regularization.”
They said, “None of the MPs from J&K spoke about Home Guards in the Parliament. If other states can regularize the Home Guards why can’t J&K do it?”
They threatened to intensify stir if the government fails to fulfill their demand. “We want to ask the helmsmen why they have turned a blind eye towards our plight. Why can’t treat people of Jammu and Kashmir at par with the denizens of the other states,” they added. |
