Absconding ex J&K Minister arrested | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 9: Police on Saturday arrested former minister Jatinder Singh alias Babu Singh who was absconding in a Hawala case. Singh was apprehended from Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. "He (Ex Minister) escaped soon after three persons were detained with hawala money on March 31," a senior police official said. The official said that Singh was taken into custody this morning in Kathua district in relation to a Hawala case which is being probed by the Jammu Police. On March 31, Jammu Police arrested one person with hawala money and detained three for questioning but former minister Babu Singh was absconding. The Hawala money of Rs 6.90 lakhs, meant for subversive activities in Jammu district was seized. On questioning arrested person identified as Shareef Shah disclosed that he was tasked by former minister, Jatinder Singh alias Babu Singh, Kathua, who was also the Chairman of Nature - Mankind Friendly Global Party to collect money from one Omer at Srinagar. The accused Mohammad Shareef was also admin of a secret WhatsApp group. However, three persons Gurdev Singh, resident of Jammu, Sidhant Sharma, resident of Kathua and Mohd. Shrief Sartaj, resident of Jammu were also detained for questioning regarding the Hawala transaction. |
