Earlier ministers used to loot J&K exchequer, now babus are doing it, allege Halmulla residents | | | Early Times Report
Anantnag, Apr 4: The floriculture park at Halmulla here is South Kashmir is lying unattended and is in a dilapidated condition. Residents while talking to Early Times said that the foundation of public-park at Halmulla was laid in 2017. “Rs one crore were sanctioned for developing this park. But it has turned into a dumping ground,” they said. Locals said that neither was any fencing erected nor any effort was put to develop it. “We want to ask the officials where has Rs one crore gone. A probe should be ordered to ascertain where the money was spent,” they added. “We urge the Lieutenant Governor to order an investigation into why this park was left incomplete and did the officials really spend Rs one crore on its development? It seems that J&K’s transition into a Union Territory hasn’t helped, earlier ministers used to loot money, now bureaucrats are doing the same,” locals alleged. They said that park has turned into a dumping yard for sand traders. “They remove the sand from rivers and before selling it in the open market they dump it here,” locals added. |
