Police arrests four drug peddlers, 3 gamblers | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Apr 27: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested four drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession. Police also nabbed three gamblers in the district and recovered stake money from them, a police statement said. A police party during a daily routine check at Juhama-Kanispora crossing intercepted a vehicle with four persons on board. During checking, officers were able to recover 700 grams of Heroin like substance from the said vehicle. The accused have been identified as Nazir Ahmad Dar a resident of Nuhama Qaziabad, Mushtaq Ahmad Dar of Peerniyan Boniyar, Bilal Ahmad Shah and Bilal Ahmad Waza both residents of Sahadatpora Naidkhai. They have been arrested and shifted to a police station where they remain in custody. The vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized. Moreover, acting on specific information, a police party raided a gambling site at Fatehpora Baramulla, following inputs and arrested three gamblers and seized stake money of Rs 20,500. They have been shifted to the police station where they remain in custody. Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation was set in motion, police said. |
