Shah Faesal's re-instatement in service indefensible, unconstitutional: Harsh Dev Singh | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 29: Questioning the re-instatement of Shah Faesal three years after his voluntary relinquishment of service and formation of a political party former minister Harsh Dev Singh described the government decision as illegal, unconstitutional and repulsively bizarre. "It was not only opposed to the service laws but constituted a violation of the very fundamentals of our democratic jurisprudence," said Singh. He observed that Faesal was booked under PSA for his seditious and anti India utterances and remained in jail for several months. He had even floated a political party besides using other platforms to promote hatred and contempt against the govt besides raking up several controversial issues inimical to the interests of peace and harmony in the country. His political outfit was reported to be including several members of the so called "Tukde Tukde" gang including Shehla Rashid. "Faesal forged an alliance in 2019 parliamentary elections with AIP of Engineer Rashid who was accused of having Pak connections. He was prevented from travelling abroad and his travel documents seized by the government on the apprehensions of inciting disaffection against India in other countries. It was strange that the very government which considered him to be a threat to peace had not only re-instated him but cleared his central deputation by disregarding all norms, precedents, laws and constitutional provisions governing service conditions of civil servants,' said Singh. Describing Faesal's re-entry into civil services as an unconstitutional act motivated by BJP's political agenda, Singh questioned the fate of several other employees of the state who had been terminated on frivolous grounds of absence from duty though of relatively lesser duration and despite their not so questionable antecedents why double standards? |
