Early Times Report

Rajouri, May 4: It might be shocking but it is true that Rajouri district has earned distinction in construction of substandard roads and the best example to substantiate the fact is that the Kalal Kas to Jamola road which was recently blacktopped has started breaking down.
Sources said that same is the case with other roads which were constructed under PMGSY in the district. The claim of the government that it has been constructing good roads to connect the unconnected areas has deflated with such incidents being reported across the district.
Citizens alleged that majority roads especially constructed under PMGSY are getting dilapidated due to sheer negligence on the part of the department. Kalal Kas to Jamola road in block Budhal Old Lower Jamola was blacktopped recently but it started breaking down after a few days of work, they alleged.
A video has gone viral wherein it was clearly shown that the road is breaking down just pulling off with hand which indicates that poor quality work has been done. While talking to Early Times Sarpanch Akis naseer has levelled serious allegations on the executing agency. He said that he had brought the matter before Distt Administration Rajouri but nothing has been done in this connection so far. People have demanded that those employees who are involved in issuing the work should be brought to book and strict action should be taken against them.
With concern to the road from Kallalkas to Jamola when contacted AEE PMGSY, his mobile was switch off. Another concerned official has assured the early completion of the said road project.
