Jammu gets no respite from power cuts
5/4/2022 11:15:07 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, May 4: The Centre allocating additional 207 Megawatts of power to Jammu and Kashmir seems to have made no difference for the people of Jammu region. They are still grappling with the frequent power shutdowns and curtailments.
People are seen protesting on streets against the indifferent attitude of the Jammu Power Development Corporation Limited (JPDCL) and seem to have given up hope about them being heard.
In few areas power cuts are announced in advance while in many areas electricity is snapped without any prior notice. People have been left high and dry in this scorching heat and JK Government seems to have no idea about how to diffuse the crisis.
On Wednesday Chief Engineer (Distribution) JPDCL Jammu informed that the power supply to Main Bazar Kathua, District Court, Jarai, RTIC Basantpur, MES Lakhanpur, Dhanna, Thein and adjoining areas shall remain affected on May 5 from 7 am to 11 am.
He said similarly, the power supply to Khour, Pahariwala, Jogwan and adjoining areas shall remain affected on May 5 from 9 am to 2 pm.
Likewise, the power supply to Ukhral, Pogal, Paristhan and adjoining areas shall remain affected on May 5 from 8 am to 5 pm.
Similarly, the power supply to GhoManhasa, Marh, Gajansoo and adjoining areas shall remain affected on May 06 from 6 am to 11 am.
Likewise, the power supply to MES and adjoining areas shall remain affected on May 06 from 9 am to 2 pm.
