Low voltage , Power cuts still prevail in Udhampur | | | Ashwani Sharma Early times report
Udhampur, May 4: Though power supply in many areas of Jammu division has been normalised yet many areas of Udhampur district are complaining frequent power cuts which has put the normal life out of gear. “In this scorching heat it becomes really unbearable to continue without electricity as even inverters are not properly charged due to prolonged power cuts,” Said a 56 year old man. Meanwhile, locals of Mand village near Manthal claimed that they are suffering due to extremely low voltage and unscheduled power cuts. “There are about 35 households in the village along with 15-20 shops but all of them suffer due to low voltage,” Sanjay kumar a local told this reporter. He said that JKPDCL department has installed 25 KV Transformer in the village which is too insufficient to meet the demand of the village which needs a minimum of 65 KV transformer. Similar was the reaction of Phangial resident Rohit Sharma who said that he has been recently married and now there are long power cuts at night and there are many mosquitoes in the area also. The irked people said what happened to the tall leaders who claimed that after abrogation of Article 370 there will be proper water and power supply in J&K. |
