Police foil JKRTC retired employees march | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 4: The retired employees of Jammu & Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC) were stopped by the Jammu & Kashmir Police personnel while they tried to carry out a march towards the Civil Secretariat in support of their demands. The employees raised slogans in support of their demands and said that the 25 legislators of the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) deceived them by not raising their genuine demands before the concerned quarters. The protesters lamented that they were not allowed to move towards the secretariat so as to project their demands. The protesters including the VRS employees of the Corporation said that the COLA arrears, DA arrears and the Sixth Pay Commission benefits have not been given to them despite demanding for the same on multiple occasions. They said the bill amounting to crores of rupees has been finalized but the same has not been paid up to the date. |
