Talwara Migrants hold protest
8/17/2016 11:28:23 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 17: Hundreds of Talwara Migrants today held a massive demonstration at Talwara (Reasi) nearly 100 kms north of Jammu city demanding implementation of SC order dated July, 2006 granting relief in cash and kind to Jammu migrants at par with Kashmiri migrants. The demonstration was led by Ms Anita Thakur General Secretary of JKNPP and Chairman and President of Talwara Migrants Action Committee Shri Balwan Singh and Shri Jagdev Singh respectively.
Addressing the migrants rally at Talwara Anita Thakur regretted that the Jammu migrants have not been given any relief for the past nine months which amounts to contempt of SC. She threatened that the Panthers Party shall file a contempt application in the SC though a contempt application of Jammu migrants is already pending the High Court at Jammu since 2009. The Panthers Party leaders who led this movement for Jammu migrants were arrested in 2007 near Katra. The SC on 12th August 2016 had awarded damages of 4 lacs to the Panthers Party leaders against their illegal detention.
