Accountability goes hay wire, Class IV manage affairs of BDO's office

Poonch, Sept 20: What to talk of accountability and transparency in border district o Poonch when the corruption is in galore at office of Block Development Officer (BDO) which reportedly is being managed by Class IV employees as Junior Assistant while the Block Development Officer (BDO) allegedly runs his office remotely through his blue eyed employees, sources said.
According to high placed sources, BDO Mendhar Tariq Aziz along with his some blue eyed senior assistant/ store keeper who has pending inquiries in corruption cases, an attached employee (whose actual place of posting in Surankote) runs his office through remote control while the office affairs are managed some class IV employees who illegally work as Junior Assistant and make fortunes by malpractices.
"The mal practices prevailing in office affairs could be gauged from the fact that senior Assistant in the BDO's Office are sitting idle and have no work to do," sources said.
"We are asked for commission on the bills of payment by the Gram Rozgar Sewaks (GRS) said a MGNREGA Contractor on anonymity. Agitated over the rampant mal practice prevailing in BDO's office, he said how a GRS can ask for commission when actually the bill is passed by the concerned Junior Engineer (JR)," he said while talking to Early Times.
Mendhar Youth Club general Secretary Er Mushtaq Jalt told this reporter that higher ups in Rural Development Department (RDD) should not ignore the reported mal practices prevalent in this office at Mendhar and appealed the district administration to cancel the attachments of the employees and send them to their original place of postings instead of make shift arrangements.
He and some vigilant locals also have demanded that the corrupt officials should be shifted with immediate effect so that the innocent rural people of the area may not suffer any more.
