NC plays dangerous game, defends Pak
Blaming army for Uri attack
9/20/2016 10:48:45 PM

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Sept 20: The NC, which suffered massive and humiliating defeats in the Lok Sabha and the Assembly elections in 2014, is playing a dubious game hoping that such an exercise could help it restore the lost political space. Ever since July 8, when the security forces killed Hizb commander Burhan Wani, the NC had been trying to fish in the troubled waters. However, on Monday, the NC crossed all the lines and exposed its dubious credentials.
It was none other than Farooq Abdullah's younger brother and Omar Abdullah's uncle Mustafa Kamaal who played foul with India. He gave a clean chit to Pakistan and virtually accused the Indian Army of causing attack at Uri to deflect the attention from the real Kashmir issue.Mustafa Kamaal is additional general secretary of the NC.
Terming the Uri attack as conspiracy hatched by India, Mustafa Kamaal questioned its timing and said the attack was willfully caused to coincide with Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief heading to the United Nations General Assembly to talk about the alleged human rights violations in Kashmir.
"Such things have happened in past in Kashmir and we all know how innocent Sikhs were butchered in Chattisinghpora village in South Kashmir in March 2000 when the then United States President Bill Clinton was scheduled to visit India. There is a vast network of Indian security agencies in Kashmir and we can't deny this fact that Uri attack may be a conspiracy to foil Pakistan's attempts to raise Kashmir issue at United Nations," Mustafa Kamaal was quoted as saying. He added that "the irony is that without any proof some people from India pointed fingers at Pakistan even while the Uri attack was under way".
"A section of people in New Delhi has become very active ever since BJP assumed charge of country which thrives on anti-Pakistan stand. This section doesn't want peaceful relations between India and Pakistan and leave no stone-unturned in defaming Pakistan. It is irony and shocking that without any concrete evidence and proof India started blaming Pakistan for the Uri attack and it depicts the mentality of such section of 'pseudo-nationalistic' people. International community doesn't believe in such rhetoric but needs and demands concrete proof," he was also quoted as saying.
What has happened to the NC leadership? It has gone so perverted and turned so dangerous and pro-Pakistan that it has started making such preposterous statements as "the Uri attack could be a conspiracy" hatched by the Indian state against Kashmir and Pakistan. It is the parties like the NC which have created a high wall of hatred between Kashmiri Muslims and the other Indians and it is the parties like the NC which promoted communalism and separatism in Kashmir for the sake of vote-bank politics.
It is clear that the NC leadership will not change itself and that it will go on creating troubles for the country in Kashmir. It's time for New Delhi to stem the rot in Kashmir and the best thing for it would be to invoke those laws which were enacted to rein in those who speak against the Indian state and for the enemy nations. There is no other way.
