KAB holds meet, review position of Paddy procurement | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 20: A meeting of Kisan Advisory Board was held today at Jammu under the Chairmanship of Daljit Singh Chib, Hon'ble Vice Chairman J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans wherein the position of Paddy procurement in Jammu province was reviewed. While initiating the proceedings of the meeting the Vice chairman stated that the paddy crop harvesting will start after some time and the positioning of the procurement centers at Minimum Support Price by the Food Corporation of India/CAPD in coordination with Agriculture Department are to be ensured will in time. The delay in opening of such centers will harm the interests of the common farmers which should not be allowed to happen at any cost. The demands have also been received for procurement of maize which is the principal crop in the State and there is no organized system available to deal with this produce. The members of the Kisan Board kept their point of view before the house including DP Khajuria, S Tajinder Singh, Satpal Charak, Rajesh Bittu, Surinder Singh, K L Sharma ,Subash Chander and Ankus Choudhary, ND Tripathi. Besides others the following officers were in the meeting GN Mir, Secretary Board, Sudesh Koul Director Agriculture Jammu , BR Pattanaik , General Manager NABARD, Kamalesh Kumar DGM, NABARD, and Atul Gupta. The officers assured the Vice Chairman to cooperate fully for being a common cause and leave no stone unturned in providing all help to the farming community so that they can sell their product with the MSP announced by Government of India. |
