Leh-Ladakh Sept 20: Ashes of late Prof Bal Raj Madhok, the co-founder of Bharitya Jan Sangh and close associate of Dr Shyama Prasad Mooker Ji, were immersed in river Sindhu as per his wish amidst chanting of Vedic mantras by his two daughters Dr Madhuri Madhok and Dr Shakti Madhok along with several well wishers. According to a press statement, the co founder Bharitya Jan Sangh Prof Madhok, 96, who passed away on May 2, 2016, at AIIMS, New Delhi, was the founder of Jammu Kashmir Praja Parishad and Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). "As the head of RSS in Kashmir in 1947, Prof Madhok had played a notable role in the defence of Srinagar at the behest of Maharaja Hari Singh, it added. Rich floral tributes were paid to Prof Madhok at this memorial function, organized by Baldev Charak Incharge VHP Leh under the leadership of Shri Bhagwan also attended the function. In his tributes to late soul, Prof Madhok, Shri Bhagwan stressed the relevance of Prof Madhok's views on Kashmir. He said that Jammu and Kashmir State must be reorganized as suggested by the late leader. Prof Madhok's elder daughter, Dr Madhuri Madhok in her address recalled her father's achievements and said Prof Sahib's was the first to give the slogan of 'India First' and wanted all nationalist forces to polarize for the unity and integrity of the country.
