Uri terror attack: Amid anti-Pakistan protests, Jammuites remember martyrs

Various organizations expressed resentment against Militant attack in Uri and sought action against Pakistan.
Tearful tributes was paid this evening by the volunteers of the Team Jammu along with members of the civil society to soldiers who laid down their lives in a terror attack on Brigade headquarter in Uri sector in north Kashmir district of Baramulla on Sunday.
Condemning the terror strike, the volunteers of Team Jammu took out a candlelight vigil at Brigadier Rajinder Singh Chowk to offer their tributes to the brave hearts.
Chairman of Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal condemned the increased terror attacks on Indian soil and laid emphasis on giving befitting reply to the enemy at this point of time to deal with the crisis.


Special gathering was organized today by Child Care Society and their students in which they paid rich tribute to those soldiers who got martyred in Uri sector of Kashmir region. The youth gathered there expressed their anger the way soldiers were martyred. They demanded stern action against those behind instigating murderous attack on the soldiers. On this occasion, Chairman of Child Care Society ,Karan Deep Singh was also present alongwith others members named Vinay Gupta, Shubham Gupta, Kawaljeet Singh, Aman Mahajan. Besides SHO Pacca Danga Ajay Bhat was also present.

The Gujjar and Bakkerwal Union state president Choudhary Nazakat Khatana condemned terror attack in Uri. According to press release, Khatana expressed grief shock and strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack in Uri. He paid tributes to brave soldiers who made supreme sacrifice. Such brutal activities are a big impediment to the peace process in the region and we all must enhance the peace process by way of political dialogues and not by weapons so that the humanity may be saved. This terror attack is a fresh violence creating a war-like situation in the region which is a symbol of enemy.


Pardesh Mahila Congress staged a protest march against nefarious designs and fueling unrest & acts of militancy in India especially in our state.
According to press release, protesters were raising slogans against Pakistan & were demanding severe punishment to Pakistan for killing our brave heart soldiers in URI. This is act of cowardice & whole world should condemn it. Our forces are ever ready to lay down their lives for the country in war & as well as in peace. Killings of our soldiers should not go in waste & time has come to teach our neighbour a lesson which she should remember for times to come. Modi Govt. should act now & teach Pakistan lesson to remember. Indu Pawar said whole nation mourns the loss of our brave hearts & we should stand in thick & then with families of our soldiers who have lost their dears in the greatest service of our nation.

Bar Association Kathua and District Young Bar Association Kathua (DYBAK) jointly held protest demonstration here at Kathua and burned the Pakistani flag in protest against Uri attack. According to press release, the said protest demonstration was led by President District Young Bar Association Kathua Advocate Pankaj Gupta and Secretary BAK Advocate Dushyant Jandiyal. The bar members who participated in the protest demonstration raised sloganeering against Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sherief. While addressing the protesters, Ex President DYBAK Advocate Ajat Shatru Sharma said that this attack was neither a mere attack on few soldiers nor a simple attack on some camp of Army where few soldiers died but this was on direct attack on the sovereignty and integrity of India which cannot be tolerated by citizens of India. By putting a scathing attack on the Modi Govt. Ajat Shatru Sharma also said that now the time has come to take some concrete steps in practical, only shallow slogans will not tolerated by electorate of India who voted BJP into power.

Sampoorn Kashmir Sangathan condemned the Uri fidayeen attack.
According to press release, SK demanded a strict retaliation from GOI to close the chapter once for all. SK assured PM package employees who are on protests at Jammu that you will not be used as trial tools anymore in any circumstances. “We pay our deepest tributes to our Soldiers n are with their families at this time of grief”, the speakers said, and urged all organizations n individuals to come jointly to put pressure on Union government and state government.

Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Rajouri city unit today took out protest demonstration against Pakistan for its involvement in the killing of 18 soldiers and also paid tribute to the martyr.
On Monday late evening hours the activists and shopkeepers of Rajouri town had also took out a candle light procession for the peace of the departed souls and to show their solidarity with the martyrs.
Activists also conveyed deep and heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families and demanded stern action against the perpetrators of militancy. “ The time has come that Union Government should also not hesitate for military option to teach lesson to shame proof neighbor” said Rishi Gupta.

A protest was held under the leadership of Youghal Sharma a local resident of Purani Poonch. A large number of persons participated in the protest.
The protesters burned the effigy of Nawaz Sharief Pak Prime Minister and raised slogans against Pakistan. The protesters were demanding that Pakistan should be declared as a terrorist state as Pakistan is continuously helping the terrorists to in filtrate into Indian Territory. The protestors condemned the militants attack both at Mini secretariat at Poonch and army head quarters at Uri.

Jai Durga Yuva Sanstha organized a candle march to pay tributes to the 18 soldiers who attained martyrdom during the Terrorist Attack at Uri in a programme at Lakhdatta Bazar.
People from different walk of life participated in the candle march. Sanstha President Amit Luthra presided over the function. Speaking on the occasion speakers hoped that NDA Government at the centre will now avenge this great loss so that such incidents are never repeated again without a very heavy prices the perpetrators of such attack.
To pay tributes to the martyrs of Uri terrorists attack, the members of J&K Freedom Fighters Association (JKFFA) assembled at Dogra Shaurya Sthal, Ambphalla under the chairmanship of Ved Gandotra, the President of the Association.
A two-minute silence was observed in the memory of all those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of nation.
Residents from across the Gandhi Nagar, Nanak Nagar and adjoining areas gathered in large numbers at the Bahu Plaza park at Jammu to pay homage to the martyrs of Uri Attack which made the country loose its 18 brave hearts while leaving many injured in a memorial program, ‘Stand in Solidarity’ initiated by Let’s Do It Jammu and The Strings.
Naresh Sharma from The Strings claimed that they wanted to create awareness among citizens about security of our soldiers. "
Meanwhile in bid to show its resentment against Pakistan for planning and abetting terror in India including the recent which took place in Uri on Sunday in which 20 army personals attain martyrdom and scores received injuries, the activist of ruling Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Kishtwar unit today burnt the Pakistani flags and condemned the Pakistan for instigating terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir besides backing infiltration of militant to this side
A large number of party activists, assembled outside its office at Kuleed Chowk Kishtwar and amid anti Pakistan slogans and against separatists, the activists burnt the Pakistan flag to register their anger.
The party activists called on Prime Minister Narindra Modi to retaliate what Pakistan is doing in Jammu and Kashmir through its proxy war and demanded stern action against the culprits involved in Uri terror attack.

Meanwhile Sanathan Dharam Sabha along with BJP held a candle light march to pay homage to the Uri martyrs and observed two minute silence in memory of the Uri attack Martyrs. The mourners which included man and women slammed the cowardice act of Pakistan.
Earlier President Sananthan Dharam Sabha Kishtwar Prof Surinder Kumar Sen said that like whole nation, people of Kishtwar stand beside bereaved martyrs families in this grief. He also said that cowardice act like Uri terror attack will never lower the morale of the Indian army forces who are fighting Pakistani sponsored proxy war in Jammu and Kashmir. Candlelight Marchers also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls beside praying t Almighty to give the strength to the braved families to bear the irreparable loss.
