| Nightmare at PCJ DySP spoils function, beats scribe | | | ET Report
JAMMU, Jan 1: The New Year celebration organized at Press Club Jammu aiming for entertainment turned into a nightmare when a DySP gave a sound thrashing to a scribe at the entrance of the Press Club building. To add colour to the function, the Press Club had invited noted singer Preet Harpal for a concert.
The victim identified as Madan was roughed up by the PSOs of the erring Dy SP when he failed to satisfy his query about the locked gate of the club.
The victim was present in the club premises when the DySP approached with his PSOs but found the door locked. The official ordered his PSOs to jump inside the PCJ premises and beat the media man. He was later taken to the hospital for treatment.
In another incident, Nowabad police registered a stabbing case when two persons Pawan Preet Singh and Baljinder Singh, both residents of Nanak Nagar exchanged heated arguments during the function.
Police, said that both the persons entered into heated arguments with each other and then all of sudden they took out sharp edged weapons.
Though people tried to intervene, police said, yet the two had stabbed each other. Both were shifted to hospital.
A police team, from the nearby police naka at Dogra Chowk, reached the spot and shifted injured to the GMC hospital for treatment. |
