| Day before exams, many denied roll numbers | | Candidates anguished over SSRB's indifference | | MOHD IRFAN
Jammu, Sept 12: With just one day left for the entrance examination for various posts to be conducted by SSRB in which thousands of candidates are going to appear, large number of them has not received their roll numbers. After many a candidates failed to their roll numbers online due to a snag in the SSRB website. The Chairman SSRB had assured that the same shall be made available to all candidates offline also.
While candidates have been complaining that SSRB has no system in place and even submitting an application form is a nightmarish experience, the Board claims that many a candidates fill in application forms wrongly and are therefore not issued roll numbers.
Candidates also rue that the officials of the board misbehave with the candidates rather than guiding them properly and thus play with the careers of young job aspirants. Deeply anguished Shagufta Kouser a candidate for the post of teacher while expressing her resentment said, "my future depends on this exam and the board officials indifferently refuse any information on my roll number". When contacted chairman SSB Shagufta Parveen said, "mess is created due to wrongly filled forms by the candidates for which Board can not be held responsible. There are only 20-25 students who have not got the roll no. and for them there is no alternative" she maintained.
