BJP's Govt forming claim self contradictory….. | Readying for 'alliance' with NC.....? | |
Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 12: Is BJP gearing up for an 'equation' politically for 2014 polls with ruling NC, an allegation its rivals often make in having an 'hidden' understanding with the party ….? If the assertion by BJP's in charge for J&K Avinash Raj Khanna during his ongoing tour to Jammu region is any pointer and indicator, the answer may be seen in assertive. Khanna made two important points - one that BJP will form next Government in J&K and second that Lok Sabha seat in DodaUdhampur-Kathua will go to Bharatiya Janta Party. Leaders of political parties making such statements that paint a positive performance is something normal and a routine matter. But the observation made by Khanna , who also happens to be MP cannot be seen as in air or just a rhetoric to boost the morale of the cadres and workers, given the fact that BJP has never been and shall never be in position in a state like J&K to form Government on its own. Moreover, the ground position where the party stands as on date is not such that it would bag a good number of seats in Assembly polls next year, nor would Khanna be so naive about political realities of various parties in this sensitive state. The Prabhari of the BJP has given ample hints what it might be looking forward to in the coming elections. So is this , no matter on hypothetical basis , true of BJP, irrespective of distancing itself from BJP and outwardly trying to tag it with its rival PDP. It is of course of a matter of political strategy till they meet the end in terms of permutations and combinations in the post poll scenario. Only on Wednesday, NC leader and Provincial President Devinder Singh Rana castigated both BJP and PDP for having a 'hidden alliance and understanding', which is just a political remark to wash its hands of what it may actually upto. BJP incharge Khanna most importantly made a point with respect to party's confidence for Parliamentary polls. Of the six seats he has exuded confidence beyond doubt in BJP all set to grab Udhampur -Kathua seat. Assertion and claim on this front is not only self contradictory but also indicative of the fact that it is actively contemplating to have equations with a regional party, which at this point of time in any case is being seen as none other than NC, given the swift political developments at Centre as well. One only wonders why BJP leader has selectively chosen to make a reference of this Parliamentary seat alone, and choosing to be silent about Jammu-Poonch seat . The latter on the contrary has been able to fetch them more political benefits in the past . Moreover there are more Assembly segments in this LS seat than those in Udhampur -Kathua seat, which makes implies that the thrust of BJP in terms of having weight and hold is only on 17 constituencies alone…..! |
