Difference between two groups weakens strength of employees | SGEJAC to stage protest against Government | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 23: The differences between two groups of Government employees have weaken the strength of the employees who are protesting against the government for their long pending demands. Even after giving time to the government till September 27 by the four constituents of Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) in a meeting with Cabinet Sub-Committee, appointed by the state government, another group of employees called State Government employees Joint Action Committee (SGEJAC) has opposed it, as they were not invited in the meeting and will stage protest demonstration on Tuesday in all district headquarters. The member of SGEJAC calling the JCC a 'Government Sponsored Agency' alleged that the JCC has ditched the employees who were supporting them in the agitation for their demands. "We welcome the formation of sub-committee, but only selected employees were invited in it, there was no question of giving time to the government, this is time for the government to announce the implementations, no negotiation will be accepted less than the singed agreement," said Suresh Sharma, a leader of SGEJAC. "We are not the part of their agitation; we will stage protest demonstration at all district headquarters including a messive protest at Press Club," he added. "The demands are genuine, but the leaders are not genuine, They are just befooling the employees for their own vested interests," said Sharma. The SGEJAC claims that they have 70 percent employees with them and the employees of major departments of the state like JDA, JMC, Medical, PHE and PDD are with them and JCC have left with Sheep Husbandry and Animal Husbandry. The leader of JCC, Gafoor Dar said, "They themselves are government people, we are agitating for the rights of employees and we have provided the employees 6th pay commission.""All the employees are with us, they didn't even participated in protests and now they are trying to claim everything when it is about to settled down," he added. It is worth mentioning here that the leaders of JCC had a meeting with the Cabinet Sub-committee on Tuesday, in which they have decided to defer their call for strike and given time to the government to take decision on the agreed demands of the employees. The meeting was headed by Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather with five cabinet members. Four leaders of four different constituents of JCC attended the meeting on behalf of 4.5 Lakh state government employees. Mohammad Gafoor Dar of Jammu and Kashmir National Trade Union Front, Abdul Qyoom Wani of Employees Joint Action Committee-Q, Rouf Ahmed Bhat of Civil Secretariat Non-Gazetted employees Coordination Committee and Mohammad Ashraf of Employees Joint Action Committee-K will attend the meeting. |
