Alliance with Cong possible: Beigh | 'NC IS A DECAYED CHINAR TREE' | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 26: Commenting over the speculations about the alliance with its former ally Congress, PDP today stated that it is possible that the alliance with the state Congress is forged for Government formation after upcoming Assembly polls are held. When asked by the newsmen about the decision of the party vis-a-vis entering into coalition with the state Congress after the forthcoming polls in Jammu and Kashmir, Member Parliament and the senior PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Beigh stated that PDP could forge an alliance and a decision in this regard will be taken only after the elections are held. Beigh who recently won LS seat from North Kashmir's Baramulla trained his guns at the ruling National Conference today stating that Shiekh Nazir- the former general secretary of NC was 'dragged' out of the party so that Ali Mohammad Sagar could be placed as the latter is an expert in 'give and take'. According to reports , Beigh while addressing a rally at Sonawari took a jibe at NC stating that the party has now 'become the decayed Chinar tree and one blow would uproot it in the near future.' He added that NC leader Akbar Lone is nowadays asking for forgiveness from people for the wrongdoings he committed in the past. "I ask people to forgive Lone but at the same time he must be advised not to contest elections again." "The party that bartered Kashmir's freedom and dignity is the worst enemy of the people of Kashmir. We can say now that the hand and the plough even jointly couldn't face PDP as the plough of NC is merely a piece of cloth," said Beigh amid cheers and slogans from the people. The former Deputy Chief Minister and Mufti's close aid remarked that he has suggested to the party leadership to remain active even after the LS polls as the 'enemy' has become more conscious after witnessing the worst ever rout. "The NC led Government here is eulogizing itself of creating new administrative units but not even a single penny has been described for the same in the budget. NC is aware that it will lose again and would later blame PDP for undoing its measures." Stating that he will present the memorandum to the Prime Minister in the near future so that Kashmiri language shall be included in the list of the Indian classical languages, Beigh termed NC as the fort of atrocities- maintaining that all the 'anti- people' steps are near to an end. |
