NC leadership aghast over Omar's absence | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 26: National Conference leadership is aghast at the absence of the CM Omar Abdullah from the State. The party leadership has said his absence shows how much Omar is serious in the state politics. Omar is out of the country. According to sources, he is off to cool place to escape the heat and also the dust of the rallies. Senior party leaders, without coming on the record, said it was the time when his presence was most important. But, the leaders said, he has shown that he is not cut for the state politics. "Look at the PDP leadership, they have won all three seats in the Parliamentary elections. Even then Mufti Sayeed is touring the interiors of the State and Mehbooba Mufti is also on the roads. This gives confidence and boost to the party leaders and cadres. But Omar just doesn't have it in to understand the things," said a senior leader. Omar was politically active when the Parliamentary elections were round the corner which the party lost. Sources said senior party leadership has said he should have understood that going late to the voters doesn't make a sense, as they understand the real motive of the leaders, who is presumed to be cut off from the grass root. The party leadership is even thinking that his absence from the state politics at this time suggest that he is planning to pack things in the State. "His absence could prove very detrimental to the party cadre. They can assume that Omar is running away and Dr Farooq is not in the best of the health. It could start the process of the disintegration of the party. Omar must understand it," said a senior leader. NC sources said that Omar has outsourced the task of rejuvenating the party to his coterie which the party source said had only weakened it and was proved during Parliamentary elections held recently. |
