Seminar on "No use of polythene carry bags" held at GCE | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 18: The NSS unit of Government College of Education today organized a seminar in the college premises on the topic "Ban on the use of Polythene carry bags" in which 12 participants presented their viewpoints. The participants highlighted the various ill effects of using the polythene bags on the health of the living beings and also creating unhygienic environment. Shalini Rajput, Priyanka Koul and Shivani Antal adjudged first, second and third respectively by the jury members consisting of Prof.(Dr.) Neelam Dhar, Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Kour and Prof. (Dr.) Piyali Arora. The prizes were distributed among the winners by Prof.(Dr.) Ajeet Angral, Principal of the college who appreciated the concern of the students about the ill effects of the use of the polythene bags and the commitment of the students not to use the same in the future. A pledge was administered to the participants of the seminar, to not to use polythene bags neither in the campus nor in their respective homes and also create awareness among the masses about the dangerous effects of the polythene bags on the life of the people and also to keep the campus and India neat and clean under "Swach Bahrat Abhiyan". |
