Police attendant clash: Two cops among five injured in scuffle at DH Rajouri | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, Feb 18: In a bizarre incident, two policemen among five were injured during a melee which occurred between attendants of an accident victim and policemen at District Hospital (DH) Rajouri when police personnel were collecting details of accident for legal formalities which was objected by the attendants. A case stands registered in this regard and two accused to assault police men have been arrested Police sources said that the repeated attempts by the policemen to get the details about the accident irked the attendants who entered into a verbal dual which later took ugly turn injuring finve person including two cops. "The injured have been identified namely as Mohd Jabeer, Mohd Shabir, Zameela Begam of Darhal while policemen injured in the scuffle have been identified as Abdul Qayoom and Mohd Fareed , munshi at hospital police post, sources said. Accusing police for harassing them, Maqsood Begam alleged that policemen first manhandled Mohd Jabeer and others and when the women tried to rescue Jabeer and Shabir they were also roughed up and even dragged from hair by the policemen. "Maqsood Begam was injured in an accident about three days ago near Kalidhar under Akhnoor Police station on Jammu-Rajouri -Poonch highway and after treatment she was brought to her residence at Darhal, sources said. They said, "Today she developed some complications and was brought to the District Hospital for treatment where the ugly incident took place while senior police officers said that the attendant of the accident victim instead cooperating policemen in performing their duty engaged in verbal dispute and also manhandled them first. |
