Wallet snatcher held, stolen cash recovered | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, Feb 18: Acting swiftly on a complaint of extortion reported in Rajouri town four days ago, the police solved the case with the arrest of extortionist besides recovery of the money. Police sources said that one Mohd Akram s/o Mohd Sadiq r/o Kotranka presently a student at Government Post Graduate College an alien to Rajouri city market was looking for Dry Cleaner shop. "Being unfamiliar to city he enquired about the shop from one Tahir Hussain r/o Dhanidhar who in return asked former to follow him to a dry cleaner's shop," police sources said. While quoting complainant, sources said instead taking Akram to the market he led Mohd Akram to to a narrow lane adjoining to Noor-ud-Din Masjid (Mosque) where he overpowered Akram and threatened him of dire consequences if he cries for help and forcibly snatched Rs 3000/- along with wallet before disappearing in the darkness." As per police sources, Tahir Hussain, is a chronic drug addict and a notorious character and following complaint of Mohd Akram a case FIR No. 83/2015 u/s 382 RPC was registered at Police Station Rajouri and investigation was started. Police taking cognizance in this regard arrested Tahir Hussain (19), on Tuesday. |
