Police bust fake currency, drug racket in J-K

Poonch, Mar 2 : The police has busted a fake currency and drug racket in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district. According to the Mendhar Sub Divisional police officer, Surinder Kumar Chowdhary, the authorities had been receiving inputs of circulation of fake currency. Several check-points were set up to inspect passers-by. Chowdhary said that the police had found five suspicious men sitting in an SUV, who did not respond to police queries properly.
"The border is very close and these men know each other very well. On interrogation, they told us that they have taken heroin and fake currency from a Pakistani boy from Dabsi village near Deri," he said."Six people have been arrested in connection with the case, with a search for a further three-four more men on," he added. The police has also recovered Rs 1,26,000 of fake currency and 1,100 grams of heroin. One of the arrested men, who ran a cafeteria in Mendhar, reportedly sold the selling heroin in cigarette packets outside a college.
