Heroin worth over Crore recovered, two held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 5: As a part of its ongoing drive against the drug menace initiated by the state police, the Kishtwar police (Special Branch) arrested two persons from the outskirts of Kishtwar and recovered over 1 kgs of Heroin worth one Crore in national and international market from their possession. “On specific input, the Special Branch of district Police laid a surprise naka at Giri Nagar on Kishtwar and intercepted two persons for their suspicious movement,” police sources said adding, “during the frisking of accused police recovered 1100 gms of heroin from their possession which is worth over one Crore in national and international market. Police sources said catch was made by the alert police party led by PSI Deepak Barti and Inspector Sameer Jillani, SHO Police Station Kishtwar under the supervision of Abdul Qayoom-KPS, Additional SP Kishtwar and Yougal Manhas SP Kishtwar. Talking to “Early Times” the Superintendent of Police (SP) Kishtwar Youghal Manhas said that the duo has been identified as Mudassar Hussain s/o Ghulam Nabi Sabuni of Nali Bounjwa and Fida Hussain s/o Ghulam Hussain Hajam of Chanpura Chingam Chatroo in Kishtwar. He said that police party led by PSI Deepak Bharti detained Mudassar Hussain and Fida Hussain during their personal frisking of them police recovered 700 grams of contraband from the possession of Mudassar Hussain and 400 grams from the Fida Hussain. SP Kishtwar said the duo was on their way to Kishtwar and then were planning to go Jammu to sell the Narcotics. The alertness of Police personnel on naka thwarted their evil design and achieved a major success against anti-social elements, he added. “A case FIR No.29/2015 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Kishtwar against accused and Investigations are on to find out the module. |
