Abodh Sharma Early Times Report jammu, Mar 5: The much awaited list of 1032 most corrupt officers in J&K who have been booked in multiple cases of corruption and financial misappropriation, reportedly prepared by the State Vigilance Organization on the directions of Governor has mysteriously got struck; and if sources are to be believed, many of those whose names are on the notorious list are doing whatever it takes to withhold the list from coming in public domain. Sources divulge that on the directions of the Governor to prepare a list of most corrupt who were habitual offenders, SVO had compiled a list of 1032 names, but though the list of most corrupt departments of the state was published, the most important list of names has been withheld. Sources also divulge that those on notorious list are trying their best to ensure that it did not come in the public domain as many of them are presently holding positions of significance in the state administration. "Many of those in the list are not only manning significant positions at present, but they have repeatedly been rewarded with lucrative postings. Those on list had thought that they would get the list dropped once the popular government took charge, but with CM assuming stern posture against corruption, they are a worried lot" said an officer in the civil secretariat. The notorious list reportedly includes tainted officers of Revenue, Education, Police, R&B, Jammu and Srinagar Municipal Corporations, Rural Development, PDD and few Corporations. |
