Govt failed to provide basic amenities to advocates: JKHCBA | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 16: J&K High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA) Jammu took serious note of failure of the State Govt. to provide basic amenities to the advocates working in various Courts in Jammu. According to press release, a meeting organized which was chaired by of its President Abhinav Sharma. The Association holds state Government accountable for delay in disposal of cases for which the lack of basic facilities to the Advocates is the major reason. The construction of chambers which was under taken a decade back till date have not been completed. The condition of District Courts Complex and High Court Complex is also deteriorating even the wash rooms, bath rooms are not useable because of dearth of the sweepers in the Court Complex. Bar Association said in statement, even received a delegation of Lawyers from different districts particularly from Kishtwar, where also the lawyers are facing extreme difficulties because of the absolute failure of the State Govt. to provide the regular facilities. The J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu expects the intervention of the present Law Minister in taking note of the lack of basic facilities to the lawyers across the State, by taking the remedial measures to redress the grievances of the Advocates. Association also tool strong exception to the failure of the State Govt. in providing proper security, as one of its members namely Shazia Kouser was attacked by miscreants in Gursai area of Mendher yesterday evening, in the meanwhile work remained suspended in all the Courts including High Court in view of the call given by the Bar Council of India on account of killing of the Advocate by police personnel in Allahabad. |
