Mufti Govt moves to clear administrative mess | Repatriation of officials to their parent departments begins | | Bashir Assad Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 16: In its efforts to clear the mess in the government departments, the newly formed PDP-BJP government has started repatriating the officials on deputation to their parent departments. The erstwhile Omar Abdullah led NC-Congress coalition government had made a mess of the administrative apparatus by deploying the blue eyed employees to other departments of their choice. This practice had adversely affected the functioning of the government departments and organizations. As the practice of deploying the government officials to other departments was harming the functioning of the departments and in many cases the deployment was made essentially by ministers for their own vested interests at the cost of the people of the state. Even though the Governor N N Vohra immediately after the governor's rule was imposed ordered repatriation of the officials deployed with the former ministers to the General Administration Department for further posting, however, the process of repatriation of the officials deployed to other departments was yet to take off. A unique trend of deploying the teachers of the Higher Education Department to other departments and organizations as administrative heads was set by the former regime. This practice had led to the deficiency of teaching staff in colleges on one side while on the other hand the trend has impacted the mindset of the teaching fraternity. The new government on Monday vide Government Order No.370-GAD of 2015, Dated:16.03.2015 , repatriated Dr. Farooq Ahmad Peer, Associate Professor, Department of English, presently on deputation as Member, J&K Services Selection Board, in terms of Government Order No. 28-GAD of 2014 dated 8.1.2014, to his parent department i.e. Higher Education Department, with immediate effect. Sources said that the government has started identifying all the officials on deputation to order their repatriation to their parent departments in coming days. |
