Allahabad Adv killing: JKHCBAJ suspends work in protest | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 16: The work in High Court Jammu Wing as well as District Court complex remain affected due to non-appearance of Advocates as the J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu who suspended the work in protest of killing of Advocate by police personal at Allahabad High Court. Meanwhile Bar Association Jammu also condemned the assault on Advocate Shazia Kouser in Gursai area of Mendher on Sunday evening. Normal work remained suspended in all the Courts including High Court in view of the call given by the Bar Council of India on account of killing of the Advocate by police personnel in Allahabad. They lawyers also took strong exception to the failure of the State Govt in providing proper security, as one of its members namely Shazia Kouser was attacked by miscreants in Gursai area of Mendher yesterday evening, According to official hand-out issued by Advocate Pranav Kohli Vice President of J&K High Court Bar Association stated that in an emergent meeting held which was chaired by of its President Advocate Abhinav Sharma, took serious note of failure of the State Govt. to provide basic amenities to the Advocates working in various Courts in Jammu. The J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu even received a delegation of Lawyers from different districts particularly from Kishtwar, where also the lawyers are facing extreme difficulties because of the absolute failure of the State Govt. to provide the regular facilities and sought intervention of the J&K Law Minister to take notice of the lack of basic facilities to the lawyers across the State.
