2 of new BJP MLCs are close to Farooq, separatists

Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 11: BJP's top brass in New Delhi and J&K finally succeeded in getting National Conference patron Farooq Abdullah's two men nominated to the Legislative Council. They took oath on April 10.
One of the MLCs is a BJP leader who had ditched his own party not once but twice during the Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council elections to ensure the victory of Farooq Abdullah to the Rajya Sabha and one of NC's candidates to the Legislative Council. He was later rewarded for violating the party whip.
Significantly, the present state BJP president too had voted for the NC candidate. The other person who was nominated to the Legislative Council from the BJP's quota had remained with the NC for many years and also was minister in the Farooq Abdullah's government.
After Omar Abdullah became the party president, this BJP nominee to the council had resigned from the NC and joined the Congress. He resigned from the Congress too after he was not properly accommodated. He later rejoined the NC and became NC MLC as Farooq Abdullah fought for his candidature. He joined the BJP just on the eve of assembly elections after he was reassured that he would be properly accommodated and he was accommodated. The BJP high command accommodated him appreciating his political credentials.
Of the remaining two BJP MLCs one is reportedly very close to the Hurriyat leadership. He is also an RSS ideologue. He was nominated to the Legislative Council despite the fact that he was not in the BJP. There was hardly anyone in the state BJP who knew him.
According to insiders, this person was "very close to some top RSS leaders, including Inderesh Kumar, Arun Kumar and also to Ram Madhav". The same sources reveal that "a number of RSS and BJP leaders used his services to establish connect with separatists" and that "he was a person with dubious credentials".
"He was an agent of many," the sources within the BJP also revealed. Sources also disclosed that the "Hurriyat leadership is feeling jubilant over his induction in the Council".
The fourth person who was nominated to the Legislative Council was rewarded for his three contributions. One was that he failed the party in Kashmir. The BJP miserably failed to win a single assembly seat from the Valley.
The BJP came to power in Jammu and Kashmir on March 1, 2015 and it did keep the promise. The Army moved out of the Bani area leading to strong protests, which were organized by the local people and the opposition NC, the Congress and the Panthers Party. They said by asking the Army to leave the Bani area, the BJP-led NDA government had "endangered their lives". "The removal of the Army from the Bani area could go a long way in helping the Kashmiri militants and Pakistan-sponsored terrorists create a serious situation in the Kathua district," the sources asserted.
Significantly, MLA Bani who is also from the BJP also protested against the decision. Insiders make a startling revelation that "Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh asked the Bani MLA and other party MLAs not to raise this issue in the assembly, as such an action on their part would embarrass the BJP government at the Centre.
His third contribution was that he made a statement in Srinagar during another "important press conference" that "a vote for the BJP would help the Kashmiri Muslims further promote their religion". Their religion would further flourish in case the BJP was voted to power," he had said.
This is the BJP the people of Jammu province voted for. It is important to note that the decision of the high command to get these four persons nominated to the Legislative Council has upset many, with many of them saying on the condition of anonymity that "the top BJP leaders are systematically rendering their party ineffective in Jammu" and that "there is no difference between the BJP and the Congress, which had also bungled in 1975 by bringing down its own government in the state and handing over the state power on a platter to Sheikh Abdullah, votary of plebiscite".
