The deserters, it is believed will take future decisions jointly. The exit comes after a year of senior leader, Shabir Shah's exit for similar reasons. Shah formed yet another faction of the Hurriyat Conference. He was joined by Nayeem Khan (National front), Yusuf Naqash (Islamic Political Party) and Azam Inqilabi (Mahaz-e-Azadi). The Hurriyat Conference was formed in1993 and comprised of 33 political and social organizations. Syed Ali Geelani opted out in 2003 to form his own faction. The split was believed to have been caused by participation of Peoples Conference (PC) in the elections through proxies. |
