Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 11: In what can be construed as a major blunder of Jammu University (JU), B.Sc Part II students of Botany were today given B.Sc Part I semester II papers in the examination centres set up across the region, triggering resentment among them. Before the scheduled time of the commencement of the paper, B.Sc Part II students in all the examination centres across the region, who were to take the Botany paper, were given answer sheets to fill in their names and roll numbers. However, when question papers were given to them at 2 pm, they were surprised to find that these were not Botany papers, official sources said. Instead of the Botany paper, the JU had handed them B.Sc Part I semester II question papers, the sources added. This angered the students but when the authorities concerned realised their mistake, they immediately took back the answer sheets from them and asked them to leave the examination centres, sources said. GGM Science College Botany head, Dr Kulbir Singh said there was confusion among the students after they were given the Part I question papers. JU's Controller of Examinations, Prof Keshav said the problem occurred due to the mistake in the packing of question papers. The Botany paper of B.Sc Part II, which was cancelled, would now be held on May 26, he informed. |
