JU organises guest lecture at at Reasi Campus 4/18/2015 10:07:50 PM JAMMU, Apr 18: Reasi Campus, University of Jammu organised a guest lecture on the topic 'Theoretical Background of Sociology'. Professor Abha Chauhan, Head of Department of Sociolgy, University of Jammu was the guest speaker. She dwelled in detail over the circumstances in which Sociology as a subject developed over a period of time. She also had a brief interaction with students of Reasi Campus and listened to their queries patiently. Students raised many queries regarding the subject matter as well as about the scope of Sociology. She highlighted the various fields where Sociology can play a significant role like academics, NGOs, Private Sector, etc. Prof. Abha Chauhan also had a detailed interaction with the faculty members of Reasi Campus. She listened to their concerns as well and guided them how to strengthen the subject. Dr. Ranjeet Sharma in his welcome address introduced the speaker and highlighted the achievements of the students of PG Campus Reasi. Ms. Ashu Sharma presented the formal vote of thanks.
