| PPCPL tournament thrown open by Kavinder Gupta | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 18: Kavinder Gupta, speaker J&K legislative assembly today inaugurated "Police Public Cricket Premier League-PPCPL" at Cricket Ground Govt. Science College Jammu.
S.P. Vaid, IPS, Addl. DGP Hqrs. J&K was the Guest of Honour at the occasion.
S.M Sahai IPS, ADGP Armed Police, Dilbagh Singh IPS, MD Police Housing Corporation and Danesh Rana, IPS IGP Jammu Zone were also present on the occasion.
Players participating in this tournament were selected from various selection trial camps held in Rajouri, Bhaderwah, Udhampur, Kathua and Jammu. Some private firms who showed overwhelming response participated in the tournament and purchased the players in the auction programme held in Police Auditorium Gulshan Ground Jammu.
Kavinder Gupta Speaker J&K Assembly in his inaugural speech appreciated the efforts and role of J&K Police for organizing such a mega sports event on the pattern of IPL in which attractive cash prizes have been announced. He said that such events are essential for channelizing youth energy in right direction.
The inaugural match was played between Kashmir Steel Warrior and Chenab Gas Royals and was won by Kashmir Steel Warrior. |
