VCE organizes Inter House Talent Hunt Competition | | | Early Times Report
kathua, Apr 18: Vivekananda College of Education organized an "Inter House Talent Hunt Competition" today in its campus to explore the hidden talent among its students, pursuing B.Ed course. The Competition was organized in six events i.e. Salad Cutting & Decoration, Mehandi designing, Flower arrangement, B.B. writing, Micro teaching skill and Preparing Teaching aids in order to enable students to showcase their talents. Programme was divided in two phases, in the 1st phase students participated enthusiastically in different events. It was a team of expert faculty that trained the students to participate in all these events. In the 2nd phase there was a cultural cum Prize Distribution function. Prof. Deshbandhu, Director Colleges Development Council, University of Jammu was the Chief guest of the programme. Other eminent dignitaries who graced the occasion were Prof. Jigar Mohd., K.S. Jasrotia, Retd. Joint Director State Education Deptt., Dr. S.K. Gupta, Chairman Vivekananda College of Education and Dr. Anju Sharma, Principal of the College. The Programme started with lightening of lamp followed by welcome Song and Himachali dance. Main attraction of the programme was choreography depicting the importance of girl child. In his welcome address Dr. Sudarshan Kumar Gupta said "Such events boost the confidence of the students and encourage them to come forward. The guidance of the teachers further sharpens their inborn talents. These programmes are organized by the College from time to time in order to unravel the creative talent of the young students". He congratulated the winners and said that "our students are multi-talented and chances are provided to them by the College for exhibiting their talents". Prizes were distributed to the winners of various events according to the Sequence given as under:- Salad Cutting & Decoration: 1st position, Pratibha (133) ShivaJi House, 2nd position, Kiran (41) Ambedakar House and 3rd position, Meenakshi (11) Ambedakar House. Mehandi Designing , 1st position Suman (77) Govind House, 2nd position, Savita (181) Ambedakar House & Puneet (309) Ambedakar House and 3rd position, Ritika (283) Shivaji House Micro Teaching Skill: 1st position, Nikha (135) Tagore House, 2nd position, Neetu (232) Gobind House and Rajni Jasrotia (8) Shivaji House and 3rd position Geetika (116) Ambedakar House & Ritika (283) Shivaji House. Flower Arrangement: 1st positionSuman (77) Gobind House ,2nd positionManpreet (173) Shivaji House and 3rd Prize: Kalyani (135) Tagore House. Preparing T.aid Competition: 1st Prize: Neetu (232) Govind House, 2nd Prize: Mitasha (4) Keshav House and 3rd position, Baby Soni (66) Tagore House & Shamli (107) Gobind House. B.B. Writing Competition: 1st Prize: Prajakta (324) Keshav House and Dharna (247) Gobind House, 2nd Prize: Manvi Sehgal (196) Ambedakar House and Payal (320) Tagore House, 3rdPrize: Nikha (135) Tagore house and Yogita (137) Gobind House. Presenting vote of thanks Dr. Anju Sharma said that "main aim of B.Ed. Course is all round development of personality and in order to develop it college provides the teacher trainees a platform to show their caliber so that they realize their capabilities and capacities during the course and after its completion they develop full confidence which will helps them to become effective teachers". The Programme ended with singing of National Anthem. |
