Awareness camp on World Hemophilia Day organized | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 18: On the occasion of World Hemophilia Day, a function and camp for Hemphilia patients was organised by staff of comprehensive Hemophilia care centre, Pathology department of Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu. The event kicked off with a slogan for the year 2015 by world federation of Hamophilla is 'Close the Gap' which reflects the difference in treatment avaiolable to people living in different parts of the country along with World. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kuldeep Kaul, HOD, Pathology, SMGS, said "Hemophilia is the oldest known uncommon genetic bleeding disorder that disrupts the blood clotting process. Treatment facilities offered by the state government are reassuring but they need to reach patients in remote districts where adequate treatments are not available. We request them to intervene by offering infrastructural support and building more treatment centres so that patients have immediate access to the factors available at the nearest district hospitals, as they cannot travel far when they are bleeding". On this occasion patients went through a dental check up, orthopedic consultation for muscle / joint care and Physiotherapy . Many patients of Haemophilia and others related bleeding disorders were benifiited by attending the function andcamp. GMC Principal Dr. Ganshyam Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion. He while speaking on the occasion congratulated Dr KK Kaul for raising the level of awareness and appreciated his dedication and commitment towards Haemophillia patient care On the occasion, Hemophilia patients, their families and friends attended the camp. Principal of GMC hospital Dr Ghanshyam Dev Gupta was chief guest. Dr Anil Mahajan Prof and Head Medcine, Medical Superintendent Dr Rabinder Rattan Pal and Dr JV Gupta ex HOD pathology were present on the occasion. |
