Jammu, May 1: Activities of Dogra Labour Union staged protest demonstration under the chairmanship of Kuldeep Raj Chalotra President of the Union outside the press club Jammu.
Addressing the gathering, Kuldeep Raj Chalotra said that unfortunately, after so many years of
Independence the condition of the labourer, Kissan is as it was as before the independence. He said, before independence lourers/Kissans were the slaves of the English of East India Company and after Independence they are forced to become slaves of bureaucrats.
"All the Government departments in the state giving step motherly treatments to the Labourers Kissans departments those are directly associated with labourers/Kissan are harassing them in a big way by CAPD, on one side said that there are more than 50% of the state populatien coming under BPL & other side CAPO department refused the labourers/Kissans for issuing BPL cards to the deserving people, " he aadded.
He further said that CAPD department and others also harassing the labourer/Kissans. He alleged hundreds of acres of the Govt land occupied by the Gunda e1ements in the state with the help of government departments but it is very unfortunate that labourers did not have even a piece of land for their houses, labourers are forced to live in Juggies.
He further said that hundereds of government schemes (State as well as Central) are meant for these poor labourer/Kissans but everyone in this country know that these schemes are only restored upto the government departments. No benefit is given to the labour/Kissan till date. |
