War against corruption: Govt transfers 260 babus in 60 days | | | Peerzada Ummer Srinagar, May 1: In a bid to check the menace of corruption in the state, the PDP-BJP coalition government has transferred around 260 bureaucrats since it assumed office two months ago. The data available with Early Times reveals that after the new regime took over, the General Administrative Department (GAD) has issued 25 transfer orders of the officers who were accorded key posts during the previous regime. The government had issued clear indications that for corruption free system, overhaul of the civil and police administration is on cards. Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed during the first meet of his council of ministers passed directions to the GAD to prepare a list of the officials who have been found involved in corrupt practices. On March 15, 43 IAS and KAS officers were transferred under order number 364-GAD of 2015. On same date, major reshuffle in the police administration was also ordered and several senior police officials were transferred. Next day on March 16, GAD issued three different orders under which two under secretaries, two private secretaries and four KAS officers were transferred. On March 18, four more private secretaries were shifted from their posts. On March 20 and 22, eight more private secretaries were transferred. On March 26, five private secretaries were shifted from their places of posting. On March 31, 12 KAS officers and other senior officials were transferred. On the same date two senior officers of the IAS cadre were transferred under order number 484-GAD of 2015. On April 6, two KAS officers were transferred. On April 9, four secretaries were shifted to other places from their posts. On the same day, 34 senior officials were also transferred.
