SSP suspends 3 cops who were booked for looting slum dweller | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 1: Police today booked three police personnel for their alleged involvement in looting Rs 7000/- from a slum dweller and harassing him on the late Thursday night while Sr Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Uttam Chand has placed the trio under suspension. According to police spokesperson, one Nirmal Bhuia lodged a complaint with Police Station Janipur alleging therein that three men dressed in Police uniform had entered in his Jhuggi in the intervening night of April 30/May 1and snatched away cash Rs. 7000/- from him. Following the written complaint, the police took action accordingly," he added. In this regard case FIR No.93/2015 U/S 451/384RPC has been registered at P/S Janipur against Policemen and further investigation of the case is going on. "Meanwhile during the preliminary enquiry, SHO P/S Janipur identified those three Policemen assigned with Flying -12 Roop Nagar Janipur Jammu namely Ct Rash Pal Singh No.3086/J, Ct Davinder Singh No.3031/J and SPO Sajjad Ahmed No.84/SPO," police spokesperson said. "A serious view of this misconduct has been taken by higher officers, he said adding, "the accused trio have been arrested and also placed under suspension." Spokesperson said, "SSP Jammu has expressed serious note over this and stated any such criminal misconduct by men in uniform as they bring bad name to Police Department and loss of confidence of citizens in Police." |
