2010 killings: Court directs SSP to file inquiry report positively by July 20 | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 20: A local court here today directed SSP Srinagar to file inquiry report to authenticate genuineness before or by July 20 regarding the allegations by ex-SSP Srinagar Ashiq Bukhari against former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah with regard to the killing of youths during unrest in Kashmir valley. "The SSP Srinagar is directed to file inquiry report without fail by July 20," Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Srinagar V S Bhou said as the SSP again failed to submit the report. "The allegations are serious in nature and requires to be proved further in order to arrive at conclusion about truthfulness or otherwise of the same," the CJM had said after going through complaint filed by Hurriyat Conference leader. The CJM said further that complicity of the persons complained against has to be established on the basis of allegations. "The court directs an inquiry in terms of Section 202 CrPC to be conducted for the purpose of ascertaining the truth or falsehood of the complaint," the CJM had said and directed the SSP Srinagar to file his detailed inquiry report before the Court before or by July. A leader of hardline Hurriyat Conference, Ghulam Nabi Sumji has filed the complaint before the CJM on basis of 'revelations' made by SSP which were reported in a section of press and demanded investigation through concerned SHOs into the killings during the regime led by Omar Abdullah who is the working president of National Conference. The petitioner also has stated that it has become necessary to have investigation into the matter conducted, so that the truth comes to fore as regards the killings that took place during 2008, 2009 and 2010. |
