Summer camp concludes at JSS Kathua | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, June 20 : Jammu Sanskriti School (JSS), Kathua organized a bonanza of activities under ten day summer camp which concluded here today in a colourful valedictory ceremony. Nearly 60 students participated in various activities such as Yoga, Dance, Music, Spoken English, Art and Craft and etc. The camp activities usually started with Yoga which was mandatory for all the students followed by other activities as per the students’ curiosity and interest. School spokesperson said all these activities were managed under the supervision of trained and specialised teachers. Spaking on occasion, Shuchita Gupta, Principal Jammu Sanskriti School (JSS), Kathua, said that in present scenario students are under continuous pressure of scoring good percentage due to which their childhood is lost. "Besides studies, children need to be involved in extracurricular activities so as to explore their hidden talent and nurture it further, she underlined. She said the camp focussed on identifying the inherent capacity of the children aiding the students to develop their inborn tendencies into their talents. On the concluding day Yoga activities were held to mark 'International Yoga Divas' which was conducted by yoga experts Ved Mahajan and Dr Sonia Mahajan. Ved Mahajan, the renowned educationist and author, was felicitated by the Chairperson JSS Harpreet Anand. The programme concluded with prize distribution ceremony in which students were awarded prizes and mementoes by Chairman JSS Harpreet Singh Anand, Principal Shuchita Gupta, Sunakshi Anand, Rohini Aima vice-chairperson and Principal Jammu Sanskriti School Jammu, Harleen Anand and Administrator Govindram Sharma.
