jammu, July 9: Prof Ashok Aima vice chancellor, Central University of Jammu today said that the university has received more than 9000 admission applications for 12 PG courses being offered by varsity. Talking to media persons here at University Campus on Thursday the VC said that admission process for various PG courses begun on April 6this year has evoked good response. "The varsity has received over 9000 applications till May 5th 2015-the last date for applying through online mode this year", he said, added, "Ours is the 12th programme and we received 9000 applications whereas the Central University of Kashmir with 24th programme received only 7000 applications and the University of Jammu with 40th programme received only 10,000 applications which is a record of its type." He further said that 172 seats out of available 180 seats in the General category have been filled and the second list with reserved category seats will be released soon. He said in comparison to the previous year, students from Kerala, West Bengal, North Eastern States, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Delhi have shown their interest for studying in the Central University, Jammu campus due to peaceful atmosphere for studies there. |
