Open split in Bar Association Kishtwar, two elections in 3 days | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Kishtwar July 9: The Bar Association Kishtwar (BAK) today underwent an outright split after 2nd election were held in Bar Association Kishtwar today in last three days wherein Advocate Imtiyaz Ahmed Hamal was elected as new President Bar Association Kishtwar, the election of which was today held inside Kishtwar court complex. With today's election which was held under the election committee comprising of Senior Advocate Jai Lal Shan ,Mohammad Hussain Waza and Inderjeet Charak, two factions of Bar Association have come into being with Imtiyaz Ahmed Hamal and O P Parihar as presidents of two factions. As per the details available with "Early Times", today's electorate of BAK comprised of 26 members in total and 18 members during today's election voted in favour of newly elected President Imtiyaz Ahmed Hamal who was unanimously elected as President BAK after advocate Khurshid Ahmed Dev withdrew his nomination at last movement. similarly M.R Rathore as Vice President ,Vikas Kant Sharma as General Secretary and Azhar Shah as Joint Secretary were elected unopposed. Other committee members elected include Chief Patron Jia Lal Shan, Cashier Inderjeet Charak, Spokesman Thakur Suman Bhandari, Library Incharge Amees Mir and Naveed Khurshid Dev while Adocate Khurshid Ahmed Dev, Advocate M.H.Waza, Advocate G N Zargar, Advocate Syed Arif Peer, Advocate Tauqeer Mushtaq Hap, Advocate Majid Kelam, Advocate Firdous Waza, Advocate Amir Waza, Advocate Jalel Waza, Advocate Kuldeep Sharma were nominated as Executive members of the BAK.. In his address senior advocate Khurshid Ahmed Dev said that despite hard attempt by some elements to divide the BAK on communal lines, today's successful election is a befitting reply to all those forces who tried to create wedge within the BAK. Khurshid Dev hails role of Jai Lal Sharma, Vikas Sharma and Inderjeet Singh Charak for playing their role in keeping the secular fabric of BAK intact. Meanwhile another faction of BAK led by O P Parihar in a press statement has rejected today's election of BAK, added that advocate O P Parihar is democratically elected President of BAK and Advocate Manzoor Shah as its secretary. They strongly condemned the action of these members, added that disciplinary action will be taken against those members who are involved in anti-bar activities. "It is the handiwork of those members who in recent past had boycotted the Lok Adalats and other official functions of the courts" read the statement, adding that political workers of various political parties were made part of today's election and termed it as unfortunate development that happened for first time in the history of Bar where outsiders were invited to create a scene. Those who witness today's BAK election include Ex MLA Qazi Jalal Din, Former President MC Kishtwar Shabir Ahmed Kamal, Tanveer Ahmed Kichloo, Trade Union leader Raj Kumar Badyal, Mushtaq Hap, Mohinder Parihar, Randeep Bhandari, Satish Bhagat,Wassim Makker, Noor Hussain, Riaz Hamal, Ravi Kumar Shan, Amir Saroori, Wassim Saroori, Jatin Manhas, President PAF Kishtwar Shakir Saddiqui, Abdul Rashid Sheikh, Abdul Latief Shiekh, Bidya Lal, Chowdhary Ishaq, Ishtaq Ahmed Waza, Firdous Mingnoo, Shahik Saroori and others. |
