Jammu, July 9: PDP leaderVikram Singh today flayed Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) over chaos due to water logging in various parts of city after yesterday's rain. According to press release, PDP leader said that rain during last night exposes working of JMC authorities, continuous rain for six to seven hours create flood like situation in several areas of jammu (Qasim Nagar, Rajinder Nagar, Jewel, Chand Nagar, Gadi Garh, Chatha, Bhatindi, Shujhma, Lower Bahufort) and it is all due to negligence of Khilafwarzi wing of Jammu Municipal corporation who helps encroachers to encroach land of Nallahs, khuds which are now converted into deep drains and maximum of water of these drains overflows and entered into residential houses and shops, and also damaged their household items. Vikram Singh argues to JMC Commissioner to take the necessary step and demolish encroachments made on nallahs as well as on Khuds and also appealed to de-silt the remaining nallahs and deep drains as early as possible. Pankaj Gupta said that use of polythene is also main reason of chocking drains in out-shirt of old city, despite of ban polythene bags are easily available in market. Girish Sharma said those shops who are involved in sale of polythene should be sealed and I also appeal to general public to don't use polythene bags as polythene is not eco-friendly and should be avoided as per direction of Court. |
