Doda, July 9: Demanding release of their salary, the Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMPHWs) today staged protest demonstration cum dharna in front of Chief Medical Officer, office. According to press release, the protest was held under the banner of Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF). Members of FMPHWs said that their salaries were withheld from the last 18 months as a result of which they were facing immense hardships. They further said that their families were at the brink of starvation and despite repeated requests to the concerned authorities, nothing was being done sofar. Addressing the gathering, District President Medical Employees Federation Mehboob Kraipak alleged that despite repeated assurances by the govt, the FMPHWs working in different Sub Centres were without salary since last 16-18 months. Kraipak urged upon the state government and concerned authorities to immediate release pending salary before Eid ul Fitr. The FMPHWs workers have decided to hold next massive protest cum dharna in all Districts of Jammu Division on July 16, 2015 if their salary would not released. Those who spoke on the occasion included Amjad Ali Shokeen, District President NHM Paramedical and Management Association Faizan Tramboo, Rita Devi, Babli Devi, Halima Begum and Nishata Begum. |
